The Nightrise Experience
Atop Sulphur Mountain
Moment Factory, a Montreal company that has created multimedia experiences around the globe. Now, they bring us an incredible show right here in the Canadian Rockies. The Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit created Nightrise in partnership with Stoney Nakoda Nation. Lights dancing and reflecting atop a mountain is a magical way to celebrate family time this winter.
The Banff Gondola takes you up Sulphur Mountain and pays tribute to the stories and history of Stoney Nakoda Nation. The immersive evening lights up the sky with vibrant colours of light along the mountain top boardwalk. Nightrise is held indoors and outdoors with video projections and soundscapes along the journey.
Nightrise begins at the base of the Banff Gondola. The voices sharing the history and stories of the land, lift you up as the gondola carries you up, up, up and into the night sky.
Arrive at the top of Sulphur Mountain and you’re greeted by a warm glow of beautiful lights. There is plenty of time to warm up with the indoor light show and lounge area. You can also get cozy outside around the campfires and enjoy the upper viewing deck that has front row seats to a sky full of stars.
You can wrap up your Nightrise experience by having family hot chocolates and treats at the Northern Lights Alpine Kitchen.

- Dress for winter conditions and pack all the winter accessories because it can be chilly and windy on the mountain
- Be present and enjoy the different senses

Walk outside the lobby of the Mount Royal Hotel and into the local shops. We enjoyed the beautiful and modern Mount Royal Hotel. We loved the convenience and proximity to all of the shops and restaurants.

The Farm & Fire has many delicious breakfast bowls with locally sourced ingredients. Starting the morning with a gourmet latte and traditional breakfast in Banff is a must!
